ranjangaon ganpati temple

(Ranjangaon Mahaganpati) Formerly known as Manipur, Ranjangaon near Pune is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva himself. This happened when Shiva prayed to Ganesha for victory in the battle with the demon Tripurasura. People say that this incident took place on the day of Tripuri Poornima, after which Lord Shiva installed the Ganesha idol as ‘Maha Ganapati’. The temple here is now known by the same name. It is one of the Ashtavinayakas
